Everything You Should Know Before Using Injectable Steroids

Bodybuilding is never easy—everyone is aware of that. However, only those who go to the gym and lift weights know the real hardship. Following a sustainable diet making sure you keep those muscles tight and solid. Yet with all these hardships, your muscles can only go so far as what you have started. This is where injectable steroids come in. Although going to the gym to train burns fats, these injectables make the process easier by cutting down fats, so your muscles look at its best.

However, if you have no idea what anabolic steroids are—it is artificial hormone, namely testosterone and when administered to your body, will enhance the protein production of your body. This increase in protein production helps build your muscle mass. Anabolic steroids also help you cut down fats quickly.

Anabolic steroids can either be injected or taken orally. Common cycles start with oral steroids. Most of the people who are just starting out to use the orally taken ones for the cause that it does not has side effects as severe as those that are injected. But is it really a lot safer than the injected ones?

What Exactly are Injectable Steroids?

As I have stated earlier, there are two ways to administer steroid into your body, through injections or through taking pills or tablets. Injectable steroids, however, are commonly oil-based and water-based.

Types of Steroid Injection Methods

There are 2 ways to administer an anabolic steroid in your body, it is through Subcutaneous Injections & Intramuscular Injections.

Subcutaneous Injection is a method of injecting the steroid into a fat tissue right underneath your skin. Because the liquid is only injected right beneath your skin, you should only use this method if you’re only inserting a small amount of steroid as the site where the steroid is injected cannot hold that much substance in it. Water-based steroids are commonly administered using this method, although some oil-based steroids can be injected subcutaneously, it is never recommended.

Intramuscular Injection is the method of injecting the steroid into your muscle tissues to make sure the steroid is distributed evenly from the injected part towards your bloodstream through your small veins and capillaries. This way of administering the steroid into your body is most common with oil-based steroids. However, water-based steroids can also be administered this way. Opposite from the Subcutaneous Injection, with the Intramuscular Injection, you can inject large amounts of steroids that can hold up to 2-3 mL of water or oil-based steroid.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The same injected muscle should NOT be administered with steroids more than once in every 7 – 14 days.

And another important thing, there’s actually another method of injecting liquids into your body apart from the Subcutaneous and Intramuscular way. However, it is far too dangerous to be used for injecting steroids.

This method is called the Intravenous Injection, where the liquid is directly administered into your artery or vein. By directly injecting the steroid you’re inducing Pulmonary Embolism. This is where the injected steroid blocks the artery in your lungs which may cause chest pains or difficulty in breathing.

What are the Preparations Needed before Injecting Steroids?

When it comes to steroids injections, you should pay very close attention to the preparations. Lack of proper preparations may lead to bacteria entering our body, skin inflammation, skin infections, nerve damage, or muscle damage.

  1. Plan everything out

Do your own research. Remember you’re introducing foreign substances in your body. You want to make sure you know what you have just injected into your body. After doing so, ask yourself these questions:

  • How many days will your whole cycle last?
  • How many steroids will it take? What are the supplies needed for the whole cycle?

This way you will never have to re-use your syringe and needle. Reusing a the syringe and needle may cause your body trouble such as inflammation, bacterial infection and such.

  1. Gather your Items

You want to make sure that you buy the needed items as well as the steroids you’re going to use for the whole cycle.

  1. Keep the Supplies Clean and Properly Sealed

You don’t want to bacterias to enter your body through the items you’re using that may cause trouble on your body.

  1. Do Not Preload the Syringe

This is one of the common mistakes made by many steroid users. There are substances in your steroids that causes the plastics and rubbers used in the syringes to dissolve. Preloading the syringe with steroids will make the dissolved substances to enter your body which very dangerous.

Oral Vs. Injectable Steroids: Which one is Better?

Steroids, be it the orally taken or the injected ones have the edge over the other. You may prefer one method of taking the steroid in, however, if you want what’s best for your muscular physique, you want to use both. Because although both oral and injected are steroids help you in building your muscles, one type has the edge over the other depending on what outcome you want.

Here’s a table differentiating Oral Steroids from Injected Steroids
